Skid Sync Universal Box Troubleshooting Guide
If your attachment isn’t responding or something doesn’t seem right, start here before contacting support.
Step 1: Check Power
Symptom: Box doesn’t light up or respond to the remote.
Possible Causes & Fixes:
Battery low or dead: Charge the box using the supplied charger until the LED indicator shows full charge (Green). Check again for proper operation.
Step 2: Check Remote Communication
Symptom: Box powers on but attachment doesn’t respond.
Possible Causes & Fixes:
Out of range: Stay within ~100 ft line of sight.
Obstructed signal: Avoid heavy metal shielding between remote and box.
Dead Batteries: Remove and replace the batteries in the remote, and check again for proper operation.
Step 3: Check Output Circuit
Symptom: Box powers on, remote LED blinks, but attachment still won’t activate.
Possible Causes & Fixes:
Blown fuse: Output circuits are protected by an internal fuse. Remove top cover, and replace the fuse in the box.
Faulty solenoid or shorted coil: Disconnect the attachment’s solenoid and test output from the Skid Sync box alone. If the box works when unplugged, your attachment solenoid likely failed.
Corroded or loose connector: Clean and reseat the quick-connect plug.
Step 4: Function Test
To verify box outputs are working:
Turn box ON.
Use remote to activate each button.
Listen for relay clicks inside the box.
If relays click: Box is sending output → check wiring on attachment.
If no click: Check internal power level and power level on the remote.
Safety Notes
Always disconnect the attachment before replacing fuses.
Only use fuses of the same amperage.
